SoFie Reed: Artist Statement
'I swirl across fabricated swamps
liberating ducks in row
and make ‘em dance.'
My work explores raw experiences of life. I trace the root by being consciously aware of nature’s influence, rule and law. Utilizing my innate human senses, I tune to resonate and harmonize with the core of being.
I use my voice in many ways. From music to film, I tell stories. My intention is to evoke movement within the human soul and original spirit.
The creative process is medicinal. Discovering new perspectives builds a powerful bridge to the pure present. It grounds my existence and keeps me resilient in a low-soul gracing, toxic, pop-human environment.
Life's defining experiences..
...are never planned. I've been through a few of these cycles where I seem to be jolted into a rerouting as certain points are recalculated. It's intriguingly complicated.
I FINALLY have my new computer. I will be spending the coming months continuing the work on my new film project.. along with a variety of odd jobs... like, editing short film clips for non-profit organizations and dog sitting. I'm staying at a couple of friends cabin in Buffalo Creek, Colorado, enjoying my family of wild and free..
